Message: We stayed here for two weeks in June 2010, and used it as our base of operations while we explored Cinqueterre and the surrounding area. It exceeded our expectation in all respects. Carla and her family were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Email communications were clear and helpful. Our room was lovely, sunny, bright and cool in the evening, and we especially enjoyed the terrace, with the lemon tree and a grand view of the town and the sea in the distance. The entire inn was tastefully decorated and spotless, with wonderful gardens. We enjoyed the eating fresh strawberries they provided with our breakfast. We are both in our 60\'s and were a little worried that we might find accessibility a problem, but the stairs were not an issue, (although we didn\'t race up them!) and had no problems walking the whole Blue Trail, with some side wanderings. We had a magical time, and we highly recommend theCinqueterre Residence. We\'ll be back soon!

Message: We just got back from our visit to Italy and our stay at Cinqueterre Residence. It is lovely there and Carla, the owner and hostess, could not be any nicer or helpful or kind. I loved Carla.

Cinqueterre Residence is located in a lovely spot on the mountain and has wonderful views. Sitting out on the semi-private terrace and taking in the views, listening to the birds, rooster, and eventually in the evening, the croaking frogs, was relaxing and heavenly.

You can walk down the 100+ steps to town (not all that bad really) or take the \"little green bus\" from the upper gate that comes every 20 minutes. It\'s easy to get around Cinque Terre and with Carla\'s help and advice, we got a Cinque Terre pass that allowed us to take the green bus within all the towns, and trains between the towns at any and all times.

Just be sure when you arrive, to arrive in time to take the green bus to the hotel. If you arrive too late, well, we couldn\'t get up to the hotel with our luggage and had to stay in town one night. There are no personal cars allowed in the town, only park vehicles (e.g. the green bus) and delivery trucks so Carla and her son, David, could not help us.

In all other aspects, Carla and David (and her husband whom I didn\'t get his name) were wonderful hosts and the place is truly a gem.

Message: We stayed at The Cinque Terre Residence for 3 nights in May 2009. A Lovely place to stay, with comfortable room and great sized bathroom. The outside terrace was wonderful in the evenings, to sit outside with a bottle of wine and fantastic pizza or hot delights from one of the local deli\'s, who stay open quite late, so if you don\'t fancy getting ready to go out for a meal after a long day\'s hiking, just lovely to sample the local quisine, olives, fruit, fantastic olive breads, and wine, and take in the lovely view from the terrace!! A bit of a hike up, but well worth it!! A real family feel to the place, and everyone was so helpfull, getting us around, as we wanted to visit Santa Maurgarita and Portifino as well as the 5 villages!! Which we managed to do in the four day\'s, with the help of everyone at the \'Residence\' checking out train times etc!! They could not have been more helpful. And set us up each morning with a wonderful breakfast, with lots of fresh fruit from the area...cherries etc.... A wonderful base for exploring the Cinque Terre, helpfull staff who know the area well, and are more than accommodating with any further travel plans you may have. Ps... If you have the time, do take the train down to Santa Marguerita, and the ferry to Portifino...It is so beautiful, as is the Cinque Terre.... but I couldn\'t speak more highly of The Cinque Terre Residence.
